CARING FOR YOUR LAWN Your lawn when you move in At the start of the building phase, topsoil is stripped from the entire site and stored carefully for later reuse. When you first move in, it’s likely that this top soil has been newly placed with grass seeds planted. Newly placed soils in gardens need time to establish their own structure, drainage patterns and micro-bacterial life again. Covering the soil with compost, mulch or vegetation, including grass, is the best way to help condition and protect the soil again. Refer to your Homeowners’ Manual for tips for easy solutions to some common issues with your new lawn. For more on caring for you garden please refer to your homeowners manual
